Western paternalism & mercantilism by Coca-Cola a reminder of America’s industrial slavery age of the 20th Century

Check out this post on one of my favorite blogs, The Kente Weavers.  Coke may be “IT” in raking in scads of cash but was also IN IT during a period up to post-World War II , a period described as “Industrial Slavery” when many American present-day giants of manufacturing made tons of their seed money that we see today as clean money from the sweat of  African-Americans picked up from streets by city and town authorities as “vagrants” and rented to big conglomerates from the South to as far North as the steel plants.  Those monies were paid to towns and cities that “rented” these men during what was, in fact, a second Slavery.

“The Re-enslavement of Black Americans From the Civil War to World War II” by Douglas A. Blackmon was first reviewed as “The African-American Vote” in the Letters to my niece series for The Comet on Sunday, August 22, 2004.  It was re-issued AFTER Barrack Obama started his run for the presidency in The Comet’s succession paper, The Nation on Sunday on May 25, 2008, and was finally blogged here in January last year as Obama started his campaign for re-election.

When will enough be enough, Coca-Cola?
